Biography

Yoshitaka Amano is a Japanese visual artist, character designer, illustrator, scenic designer for theatre and film, and costume designer. He began his career in 1967 at Tatsunoko Production, where he contributed to anime such as *Speed Racer* and created iconic characters for series like *Gatchaman*, *Tekkaman*, *Honeybee Hutch*, and *Casshern*. In 1982, Amano became a freelance artist and gained further recognition for his work as an illustrator for best-selling novel series, including *The Guin Saga* and *Vampire Hunter D*. He is also celebrated for his commissioned illustrations for the popular *Final Fantasy* video game franchise.
