Veronica Cartwright

Veronica Cartwright (born April 20, 1949) is a British-born American actress known for her roles in science fiction and horror films. She has received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations and is the older sister of actress Angela Cartwright.

Cartwright began her career as a child actress in supporting roles in *The Children's Hour* and *The Birds*, the latter being her first commercial success. She transitioned into more mature roles with the 1978 film *Invasion of the Body Snatchers*. In 1979, she portrayed Lambert in the science-fiction horror film *Alien*, for which she won a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress. She also appeared in *The Right Stuff* and *The Witches of Eastwick*, both of which received critical praise. During the 1990s, she earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, including one for her role in *ER* and two for her appearances in *The X-Files*.
