    Anthony Dominick Benedetto, known professionally as Tony Bennett, was an acclaimed American jazz and traditional pop singer. Over his long and distinguished career, he received numerous accolades, including 20 Grammy Awards, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and two Primetime Emmy Awards. Bennett was honored as a National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master and a Kennedy Center Honoree. He was also recognized for his contributions to the arts through his founding of the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, Queens, and the non-profit Exploring the Arts education program.
