Tom Skerritt

Tom Skerritt is an actor known for his role in *Alien*. A lean, ruggedly handsome leading man and supporting actor, Skerritt's "outdoor" looks have improved with age. He attended Wayne State University and UCLA, where he was first noticed in a production of *The Rainmaker*. He made his film debut in *War Hunt* (1962), but spent most of the following decade in television, regularly appearing in *Combat!* (1962), *The Virginian* (1962), *Gunsmoke* (1955), and *12 O'Clock*.
