Biography
Stephen Joseph Malkmus is an American musician who is best known as the lead singer, primary songwriter, and guitarist for the indie rock band Pavement. The band was formed in the late 1980s as a duo before growing into a five-piece ensemble. Over the course of nearly a decade, Pavement released five studio albums, becoming a significant influence in the indie rock scene before disbanding in 1999.
