Biography
Ky spent much of her early childhood in small rural towns around South Australia, where she often explored the countryside, rode her horse through the bush, and experienced the freedom typical of small country life. At the age of 19, her life changed dramatically when a high-speed car accident left her with a fractured vertebra in her spine. Doctors told her she would never be physically active again, but Ky refused to accept this as a permanent limitation. Her passion for the outdoors and her determination led her to use rock climbing as part of her recovery process.
It was during one of these outdoor rehabilitation programs that a participant suggested Ky’s physical abilities might be well-suited for stunt work. Inspired by this idea, Ky moved to Canada and trained for three years in various martial arts and weapons. She soon landed her first major role as a stunt double for Sharon Stone in *Catwoman*, followed by a similar role for Jennifer Garner in *Elektra*. Her stunt career continued to grow, with appearances in notable films such as *The Avengers*, *Thor*, *Pirates of the Caribbean*, and *X-Men*, and working with actresses including Anne Hathaway, Ellen DeGeneres, and Jessica Biel. In 2012, Ky was surprised to receive the World Taurus Stunt Award for The Best Female Stunt Performer in the world.
