Kevin Davies

Kevin Jon Davies is a British television and video director known primarily for his work on documentaries and spin-off videos related to *Doctor Who*, *The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy*, and *Blake's 7*. He contributed to the BAFTA award-winning animation sequences in the 1981 television adaptation of *The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy*.

Davies wrote and directed the documentaries *The Making of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy* and *Thirty Years in the TARDIS*. The latter was commissioned and broadcast on BBC One in 1993 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of *Doctor Who*. It was later expanded for video release as *More Than Thirty Years in the TARDIS*. Some of Davies' other interview footage has appeared on *Doctor Who* DVD releases, including *The Beginning* box set and the two-DVD set for *City of Death*. He has also contributed to DVD extras for other BBC titles, such as *Dad's Army* and *The Andromeda Anthology*.

Davies directed the *Doctor Who* spin-off video *Shakedown: Return of the Sontarans* and two episodes of the Sky One science-fiction drama *Space Island One*. He also worked in the animation department for the film *Who Framed Roger Rabbit?*. For unknown reasons, he is referred to as "Gwendolyn" or "Gwen" in the forums of the Douglas Adams Continuum.

Kevin has one son, Liam, who is 17. He manages his own website, which serves as a webzine blog focused on the classic series of *Doctor Who*. He also provided illustrations for the animated series of *The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy*.
