    Biography

Katie Boyum began her film career at age eleven as a stunt performer on the TV series *Werewolf*. Growing up immersed in the arts, she traveled the world on her father’s film and television sets and spent time in her mother’s photography studio. While working as a stunt driver on the set of *Mighty Ducks 2*, she encountered her first Steadicam. She realized that her training in ballet, martial arts, and photography had led to that moment, and she felt a clear sense of direction.

She attended Loyola Marymount University as a Film major with a minor in Studio Art/Photography. During her first summer vacation, she worked as a Camera Intern on *Jingle All The Way*. Before graduating, she became a member of IATSE Local 600 and completed Garrett Brown’s Steadicam Workshop. Katie continued working as a camera assistant until an opportunity arose in 2003 on *La Femme Musketeer*, where she began her career as a Camera/Steadicam Operator. Over the next twelve years, she worked as a camera operator on major motion pictures, television programs, music videos, and commercials. From this background, she pursued further development as a filmmaker by learning to edit the projects she filmed. This led to a partnership with Jeff Murphy, a professional editor, and the founding of their production company, Quest Pacifica. A recent two-year collaboration with Majesco Entertainment saw Katie directing and producing commercials, documentaries, and video games. Her passion for storytelling, combined with her experience as a camera operator and editor, has contributed to her success in the field and provided her with a distinctive perspective that continues to evolve.
