John Cleese

John Marwood Cleese is an English actor, comedian, screenwriter, producer, and presenter best known for his work with the comedy troupe Monty Python. He co-founded the group in the late 1960s and contributed to their iconic sketch show, *Monty Python's Flying Circus*. Cleese also starred in the Monty Python films *Monty Python and the Holy Grail* (1975), *Life of Brian* (1979), and *The Meaning of Life* (1983), alongside fellow members Graham Chapman, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. Prior to his Python career, Cleese gained recognition through his work with the Cambridge Footlights, at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and as a writer and performer on *The Frost Report*.
