Joseph Satriani is an American rock guitarist, composer, record producer, and songwriter known for his influential work in instrumental rock music. Before launching his successful solo career in the mid-1980s, he worked as a guitar instructor, teaching future notable musicians such as Steve Vai, Kirk Hammett, and Larry LaLonde.
