Biography
Hugo Wallace Weaving is an actor whose career spans stage, film, and voice roles. He was born in Colonial Nigeria to British parents and relocated to Australia in 1976. He trained as an actor at NIDA in Sydney. Weaving received international attention for his performances in the Australian films *Proof* (1991) and *The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert* (1994). He later became widely recognized for his portrayal of Agent Smith in the first three *The Matrix* films (1999–2003) and Elrond in *The Lord of the Rings* trilogy (2001–2003), both of which are American productions.
