Biography
Gentoku (元徳) was a Japanese era name that followed Karyaku and preceded Genkō. It marked a historical period from August 1329 to April 1331 under the Southern Court. During this time, the reigning emperor was Go-Daigo-tennō (後醍醐天皇). The era name continued to be used in the Northern Court until 1332, reflecting the political division between the two courts during the Nanboku-chō period.
