Netflix Developing Live-Action Persona TV Show

Netflix is reportedly developing a live-action television series based on the Persona role-playing game franchise. According to Variety, the project is in early stages of development with Christopher Monfette set to write, executive produce, and serve as showrunner. Monfette has previously worked on shows like Star Trek: Picard and 9-1-1. The series will be executive produced by Shawn Levy and Robert Atwood of 21 Laps, alongside Story Kitchen's Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson, with Sega producer Toru Nakahara also involved. It remains unclear whether the show will adapt a specific game or create an original story. The Persona franchise, known for titles like Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal, has a rich narrative history to draw from.
