Chad Smith

Chad Gaylord Smith is an American musician best known as the drummer for the rock band the Red Hot Chili Peppers, a position he has held since 1988. He has contributed to ten of the band's studio albums and is recognized as their longest-serving drummer. The Red Hot Chili Peppers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. In addition to his work with the Chili Peppers, Smith is the drummer for the hard rock supergroup Chickenfoot, formed in 2008, and for Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbats, an all-instrumental band established in 2007. He also collaborated with the Chicks on their 2006 album *Taking the Long Way*, which won five Grammy Awards in 2007.
