    Biography

    William Jefferson Clinton is an American former politician and lawyer who served as the 42nd president of the United States from 1993 to 2001. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously held the positions of attorney general of Arkansas from 1977 to 1979 and governor of Arkansas from 1979 to 1981, and again from 1983 to 1992. Clinton's centrist "Third Way" political philosophy, known as Clintonism, became a defining feature of his presidency and significantly influenced the Democratic Party's direction in the decades that followed.
