Alex Garland

Alexander Medawar Garland is an English author and filmmaker known for his work in both literature and film. He gained recognition with his debut novel *The Beach* (1996). Garland has written and directed several critically acclaimed films, including *28 Days Later* (2002) and its sequel *28 Years Later* (2025), *Sunshine* (2007), *Never Let Me Go* (2010), and *Dredd* (2012). His screenplays are noted for their intellectual depth and atmospheric storytelling. In addition to film, Garland has contributed to the video game industry, co-writing *Enslaved: Odyssey to the West* (2010) and serving as a story supervisor for *DmC: Devil May Cry* (2013).
